Meet Our Team

Thomas Ham, LPI

Mr. Ham is the owner and lead investigator of Ham Investigations and Spy Catchers LLC. Mr. Ham has over 25 years of combined investigative and TSCM Bug Sweeps experience. While a police officer with the Knoxville Police Department, Mr. Ham was promoted to Detective where he conducted investigations involving drugs, homicides, missing persons, and juvenile cases. In addition, he received specialized training and certification in child abuse and sexual exploitation cases.

He was also the lead investigator for the Serious Habitual Offender Program where he worked with multiple jurisdictions and agencies. During his career in law enforcement, Mr. Ham received many distinguished awards including the Medal of Merit.

Mr. Ham began his investigative company with a goal of providing honest, fact-based investigations for individuals, attorneys and businesses. To that end Ham Investigations has assembled a highly qualified team of licensed professional investigators experienced at gathering evidence and reporting it clearly and concisely. Mr. Ham has provided court testimony in the local, state and federal levels on a wide range of cases.

Mr. Ham maintains the highest professional standards and training in the industry. Likewise, he utilizes a network of various experts in specialized fields from fingerprinting analysis, skilled traffic crash investigators, polygraph examination and a variety of other specialized forensic investigators for complex cases. Likewise, during his career as a Private Investigator, Mr. Ham and his company have been successfully involved in cases including missing persons, child abuse, homicide, bank robbery, drug trafficking, product liability and unsolved cases.

 

TSCM BUG SWEEPS

In addition to Investigations, Mr. Ham serves as the lead Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) technician. Mr. Ham performs Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) Sweeps across the Nation. These are commonly referred to as “Debugging” or “Bug Sweeps“. Mr. Ham utilizes highly specialized equipment along with years of training and experience to conduct these Sweeps. His team of TSCM professionals locate hidden cameras, audio recorders, phone wiretaps, GPS trackers and sources of Electronic Harassment.

Mr. Ham is a United States Navy Veteran where he specialized in advanced electronics for weapons guidance systems. Since that time, Mr. Ham served as a Police Officer and Detective in Tennessee. Since then, he has owned and operated a full service investigative company for over 15 years. Furthermore, Mr. Ham is a seasoned TSCM Technician trained by Research Electronics International and World Institute of Security Enhancement.

Mr. Ham continued his education in the field including licensing in North Carolina as a TSCM specialist. North Carolina is one of only a few states that specifically requires a professional license for someone to offer services in the field of Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM). Any individual in the state of North Carolina that provides TSCM services without a North Carolina license does so in violation of the law. North Carolina requires a strict educational element along with proven work experience and an extensive background check  prior to issuance of a Technical Surveillance Countermeasures license.

AFFILIATIONS

Mr. Ham is a member of Espionage Research Institute International (ERII), which is a global organization serving TSCM and counterespionage professionals. In addition, Mr. Ham is a member of the World Association Of Detectives, which is an organization dating back to 1921 that restricts its memberships to only those persons whose personal and professional backgrounds strictly observe the precepts of truth, accuracy and prudence.  Likewise, Mr. Ham is also a member of ASIS, a global community of security practitioners. Mr. Ham was invited to be a member of Intellenet, which is a world-wide network of investigators and security consultants. and is a lifetime member of the Association of Old Crows (AOC). Our Team of Professional Investigators

Kristal Ham, B.S., TSCM, LPI

Mrs. Ham has served as a licensed private investigator and TSCM Technician with the firm since 2008. She works as the Operations Manager of our team and is responsible for research, witness location, surveillance, site photography and case management. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies and works closely with local, state and national attorneys in case preparation, witness preparation, jury selection, and trial strategy.

During her tenure at the firm, Mrs. Ham has investigated homicide cases, rape cases, unsolved homicide investigations, medical malpractice, federal drug conspiracy/trafficking cases, missing persons and DUI’s. Ms. Ham is also formally trained in Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) procedures at Research Electronics International. Ms. Ham has conducted Technical Surveillance Countermeasures sweeps as part of professional sweep teams for residential and corporate clientele.

In addition, She is certified as National Animal Cruelty Investigator and is a current member of the National Defenders Investigator Association (NDIA) and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Mrs. Ham has successfully completed NHTSA’s Standardized Field Sobriety practitioner’s course, the NHTSA Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) course and the NHTSA Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Overview Course.

Candy S. Keller, LPI

Mrs. Keller has served as a licensed private investigator with the firm since 2013. She works as one of the field investigators on our team and is also responsible for research, witness location, interviews, surveillance, site photography, DUI investigations and consulting. She works closely with local, state and national attorneys in case preparation, witness preparation and intensive file review during all aspects of ongoing investigations. During her tenure at the firm, Mrs. Keller has investigated cases involving homicide, rape, unsolved homicide investigations, medical malpractice, federal drug conspiracy/trafficking, missing persons and DUI’s. Mrs. Keller has successfully completed NHTSA’s Standardized Field Sobriety practitioner’s course as well as the NHTSA Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) course.
